Dr Al-Salihi gained his primary degree in Medicine and Surgery overseas and received extensive experience whilst working in various parts of the world. After completing his General Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in New Zealand and Australia, he received formal training in Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive surgery at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne. He completed subspecialty training and obtained his Certificate in Urogynaecology in 2011, a subspecialty in women's urinary incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Dr Al-Salihi is currently the Head of the Urogynaecology Department at the Royal Women's Hospital in Parkville, Melbourne.
He has a special interest in laparoscopic and minimal access surgery as well as robotic surgery in pelvic reconstruction and Urogynaecology including female urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and female bladder health.
Dr Al-Salihi is consulting and operating in Shepparton on a monthly basis.
