Alasdair is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, with a focus on surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee, sports injuries and fractures. Alasdair consults and operates at the Shepparton Private Hospital, where he shares rooms with Ian Critchley.

Alasdair completed his basic surgical training in the UK becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004. He then undertook further training in Adelaide, Australia from 2004 to 2006, including the Villis R Marshall Orthopaedic Fellowship. Whilst in Adelaide, he also gained a Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine from Flinders University, which gave him valuable knowledge in the non-surgical treatment of orthopaedic conditions. From 2007 to 2013, he undertook his specialist training in the Royal London Hospital Training Program, being admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. From 2014 to 2017, Alasdair returned to Adelaide and undertook sub-specialty, hands-on fellowships in trauma, shoulder, knee, hip and foot and ankle surgery at Flinders Medical Centre and The Repatriation Hospital. In 2017, Alasdair moved to Shepparton to take up an Orthopaedic Consultant role at GV Health and in 2018, was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Australia.

Alasdair has been committed to delivering high quality medical education and training throughout his career. He is currently an instructor for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) Course and an Honorary Clinical Tutor with the Rural Clinical School of The University of Melbourne.

Alasdair enjoys running, swimming, golf and windsurfing.

Referrals
To make an appointment with Alasdair at Shepparton Private Hospital, patients must have a written referral from their GP and have:

• Private health insurance
• Gold Card, Veteran’s Affairs

• Public patients at Shepparton Private Hospital. Alasdair sees public patients at Goulburn Valley Health in his public appointments.
