Dr Udayasiri is an Australian-trained general surgeon who has a special interest in breast, endocrine and laparoscopic surgery. She was granted Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in 2017 and received Conjoint Committee Recognition in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE) in 2018. She now also holds a Masters in Advanced Breast Surgery from the University of Sydney.
Dr Ru has a special focus on breast surgery. She is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care across regional Victoria. She has an interest in breast cancer surgery, endocrine surgery and minimally invasive (laparoscopoic) procedures, offerfing expert care to her patients.
Her contributions to research have been recognised internationally. Most recently her study on Neoadjuvant Therapy for Breast Cancer in Regional Hopsitals was presented at the World Congress on Controversies in Breast Cancer highlighting the rural Australian experience and drawing global attention to regional cancer care.
In recogningtion of her outstanding service and leadership Dr Ru was awarded the 2025 RWAV Outstanding Contribution by a Rural Medical Specialist Award.
A dedicated advocate for womens' health and preventative care, Dr Ru frequently hosts community education sessions focused on breast cancer awareness, early detection and proactive health engagement.
