The New Mental Health Unit at Shepparton Private Hospital is now open!
Private patients seeking treatment for mental illness will no longer have to travel to Melbourne now that Shepparton Private Hospital has opened a newly developed private inpatient mental health wing.
The facility, called Sherbourne Clinic, has 14 inpatient beds, patient lounge, gymnasium, group therapy rooms and outdoor garden areas.
Outpatient day programs are also available for those who require support but don’t require inpatient care.
The nurse unit manager is Mr Jason Campbell and he has been working in mental health for the past 18 years after studying at Latrobe university in Bendigo. All admissions are voluntary, and programs are individualised to support the specific needs of each patient.
Three local private Consultant Psychiatrists work collaboratively with the nursing team and allied health professionals to assist clients living with a variety of mental illnesses including; anxiety, depression, eating disorders, phobias and schizophrenia.
